September 13 – Virginia, Eveleth, Mountain Iron, and Hibbing firefighters were paged this afternoon to a house fire in Virginia. The fire was reported around 3:30 in the 100 block of 3rd Street North. Arriving firefighters discovered a small fire in the house, which was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was investigated by the Virginia Fire Marshal’s Office, Virginia Police Department, and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office. The Virginia Police Department provided traffic control at the scene.
