Virginia apartment building destroyed

 An early morning fire on May 14, 2006 caused extensive damage to the Phoenix Building, 302 8th Street South in Virginia.  The fire was reported just after 2:00 a.m.  Five residents were rescued from the second story of the multi apartment complex.  Eight people, including three firefighters, were treated for smoke inhalation or minor injuries.  The fire brought in crews from Virginia, Eveleth, Mountain Iron, and Gilbert.  According to Virginia fire officials, the cause of the blaze was determined to be arson.
