Morning Fire Closes Hermantown Wal-Mart

January 5, 2011 — A fire at the Hermantown Wal-Mart on Highway 53 in Hermantown resulted in the store being closed for the day. Hermantown firefighters were dispatched around 8:15 a.m. to a report of heavy smoke coming from the store, along with an activation of sprinkler system. The sprinkler system contained the fire to a rear storage area, with firefighters extinguishing the remaining flames. The cause of the fire was under investigation. The store was re-opened the next day.
