Weekend Fire School Set For Lake Superior College
The Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC) at Lake Superior College in Duluth has scheduled a weekend fire school for September 13 and 14. The 12 hour classes include: Auto Extrication-Basic, Introduction to Strategies and Tactics for Water Rescue, Auto Extrication-Advanced, Rope Rescue-Basic, Advanced Wilderness Search Concepts and Basic Fire Pump Operations. Mesabi Range College to host Arrowhead Conference on Community Emergency Preparedness and Terrorism
Mesabi Range College will be hosting this important conference on Thursday, December 18 from 8:00 - 4:00 at the Virginia campus. According to college officials, this conference is designed to bring heightened awareness and practical solutions to any community organization faced with an emergency situation involving security threats or violence in the workplace. Some of the topics include: identification of bullies, gangs, narcotics, unwanted persons, property/structure security assessment and emergency response procedures and protocols/policy. Mesabi Range College offers E-85 live fire training
With E-85 becoming more and more available as an alternative fuel for newer vehicles, many firefighters may not be aware of the unique hazards of this fuel. Mesabi Range College is now able to provide live burn training on E-85. This hands on training involves a mobile burn pan which can be brought right to your fire station.
