July 16 – Firefighters from Clinton Township and Eveleth battled an early morning trailer house fire in Clinton Township. The fire was reported at 2:40 a.m.at the Mark Thompson residence on County Highway 7. Arriving crews found the house already engulfed in flames. Eveleth firefighters conducted an interior search of the trailer house and found that the home was unoccupied. Investigators said the structure was a total loss. A pet Boa Constrictor died in the blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department.
