Fire spotted by aircraft
January
30, 2002 – Grand Lake Township firefighters battled a mid morning house fire
in Grand Lake Township.
The blaze was reported at 5930 Nelson Road just before 10:30 a.m.
Grand Lake Fire Department official Duane Johnson told The Northland Fire
Wire that the fire was reported by an aircraft that was flying in the area and
spotted the smoke from the fire.
Firefighters from Canosia, Hermantown and Solway were called in for
assistance. The
house was considered a total loss.
No injuries were reported.
The fire may have been caused by an electrical problem.
