Aerial Truck is Getting Used
Greenwood Township's aerial truck has been used in three major area fires. The first was the Wayside Cafe blaze on December 21, 1999. Then on January 22 of this year, the truck was called into action in Cook when the Amundson Apartment Building caught fire. This summer, it was back to the Cook area when the
Country Supper Club was destroyed by a grease fire. Greenwood Fire Chief Randy Klavido says the truck has worked out great in all three fires. Chief Klavido has some advice to offer when using aerial apparatus. "Make sure you have a good and constant water supply," he said. "It doesn't take long to deplete your water resources when you start using an aerial with a master stream!"
